When we think of commercial fishing, the images foremost in our mind may likely be a fisherman and their catch. But pan out for a moment and we see the industry, community and work that make it possible for boats to hit the water and fish to find a plate. While not always the most glamorous jobs, those who put in countless hours “making it happen” whether turning wrenches or corners on a forklift, running production lines or tenders, making ice or deals, the people who have gone to work for us are diverse, dedicated and the unsung heroes of this industry. It’s time to hear their stories and recognize their contributions.
Join us as we introduce the F/V Ramblin’ Rose aka “Lifer” Award for Career Achievement in Maritime Industrial Trades. Meet the crew who will embark on a story-telling journey to learn about the individuals whose talent and skill have seen the commercial fishing industry through its high and lows all the while pushing ingenuity and know-how down the line.
Come on, let’s get sentimental, relive the memories.
Know a Lifer? Give us a lead…We are fishing for nominations!
