Trish Whetstone is a seafood communicator, content creator, and the driving force behind Trish Talks Fish, a platform dedicated to demystifying seafood and celebrating its diversity and accessibility. She works directly with fishermen, educators, and seafood providers, harnessing the dynamic power of educational storytelling to inspire and empower new audiences of fish-curious folk to dive into the world of blue foods.
As the coordinator for the BC Young Fisherman's Network, she supports the local fishing fleet through education and mentorship opportunities, community development, and increasing the public awareness of the role that small-scale commercial fisheries play in coastal food security, communities, and economies. Her unique interest in fisheries history has led her to conduct independent research on the intersection of fisheries, creative expression, and identity, bridging the past and present in her efforts to shape a holistically sustainable future for the seafood industry.
