Tav Ammu started commercial fishing on his father’s drift boat when he was 12 years old and began captaining his own boat in the bay in 2020. Tav currently is an Assistant Professor at the Bristol Bay Campus under the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He also serves as a Marine Advisory Program Agent within Alaska Sea Grant. Tav served in the Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer and brings his naval experience when considering a proactive approach towards mental health for life, work, and safety on the water.
