Sarah Webster is the Science Projects Director for the Alaska Seafood Cooperative. Since moving to Alaska in 2010, Sarah has worked on a wide variety of fisheries research projects in the North Pacific through positions in academia, agency, and now with industry. Her focus is in developing collaborative research projects that support sustainable fisheries. The Alaska Seafood Cooperative is the fishing cooperative and research body for the bottom trawl catcher-processor sector in the North Pacific. Vessels rely on onboard observers for catch monitoring and the cooperative has worked closely with the Observer Program on developing new monitoring programs as fishing practices have evolved to meet conservation and management goals in the North Pacific.
