Hugh Cowperthwaite is Senior Program Director of Fisheries & Aquaculture at Coastal Enterprises, Inc. (CEI), a Maine-based community development financial institution that advances economic opportunity through financing, business expertise, and policy solutions. For more than 35 years, Hugh has worked across the fisheries and aquaculture sectors, supporting commercial fishermen, aquaculture producers, and working waterfront businesses. At CEI, he leads efforts to connect marine enterprises with capital, technical assistance, and strategic partnerships that strengthen both businesses and coastal communities. As moderator, Hugh will guide a national conversation on innovative approaches to financing and supporting seafood and aquaculture enterprises.
