Alaska is home to some of the world’s most sustainable fisheries. The economic ecosystems of coastal Alaska are supported by industry and individuals who participate in them and rely on the sustainable management of their pristine ecosystems. In this session, panelists will explore current issues of Alaskan fisheries as a whole. It will touch on how the current impacts the local, state, and West Coast economy, while sharing a variety of initiatives and opportunities that audience members can engage with.
Attendees will also hear reports on progress from the Alaska Seafood Task Force in finding legislative ways to assist fishermen, processors, and communities as they face uncertainty.
