Main Stage

The Marine Exchange of Alaska (MXAK) plays a pivotal role in promoting safe, secure, efficient, and environmentally responsible maritime operations across Alaska’s vast and remote waters. This presentation will provide an in-depth overview of MXAK’s innovative services and technologies, including its extensive Automatic Identification System (AIS) network, 24/7 Maritime Operations Center, vessel tracking, environmental reporting, and VHF distress communications services. Attendees will gain insight into how MXAK supports commercial shipping, fishing fleets, and government agencies by improving situational awareness, facilitating emergency response, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Case studies will highlight the organization’s contributions to risk mitigation, search and rescue missions, and sea traffic management. As the maritime industry continues to evolve amid climate change and increased vessel traffic, MXAK’s mission remains vital to safeguarding the unique marine environment and the communities that depend on it.
