John Hollingsworth has been the Chief Operating Officer for the Marine Exchange of Alaska since retiring in 2020 from the Coast Guard where he served for 31 years. He manages a 24-hour operations center which performs sea traffic management for vessels traveling along the Great Circle route through the Aleutian Islands between the far East and the West coast of the U.S. He’s also responsible for information technology and field operations, which includes the functional design, installation, operation, and maintenance of the Marine Exchange’s more than 150 Marine Safety Sites throughout coastal Alaska.
