Frances brings extensive experience with several fishing sectors in Alaska and a deep knowledge of fisheries issues. A lifelong Southeast Alaskan, she commercially fished on her family’s fishing vessel for over 30 years where she participated in numerous fisheries. Currently she is the founder and principal lobbyist and consultant at Capitol Compass where she represents the fishing industry and coastal Alaska concerns at the Alaska State Legislature. Frances previously served as Executive Director for United Fishermen of Alaska and worked as a Regulations Specialist for the Alaska Board of Fisheries. Frances holds a Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University and Master of Arts from The George Washington University.
