Cory Armstrong is the owner and operator of ACI Boats in Port Townsend, WA. He has decades of experience building aluminum boats, specifically catamarans, and has dedicated his entire career to building and refining these boat designs to match marine advancements. Cory may be most well-known for his work at Armstrong Marine where he spent over 20 years of his career as partner, overseeing the design and fabrication of hundreds of aluminum boats. Cory grew up in the remote islands off British Columbia, where his parents settled after sailing up to Canada from San Francisco in 1968. Living completely off grid and traveling to school by way of a wooden paddle boat, Cory began working in metal shops and learning how to weld at a young age. Going to school during the day and working at night Cory learned the importance of efficiency, and a strong work ethic. By 17 years old Cory was the lead night welder at Western Aluminum Craft. He went on to gain extensive hands-on experience within the industry. Along with founding Armstrong Marine, Cory was also involved in Moose Boats, a successful Aluminum Boat builder in Vallejo, CA. He is a USCG 100 Ton Master, with an Auxiliary Sail & Towing Endorsement, a certified welder, private pilot, scuba diver, and has logged sea time in waters around the world.
