Sam Friedman provides insights on Alaska seafood harvests and markets as part of McKinley Research Group’s data support service to the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute. Since joining McKinley Research Group in 2021, Sam has worked on numerous seafood and mariculture reports including the bi-annual Economic Value of Alaska’s Seafood Industry and the 2021 Alaska Seaweed Market Assessment. Sam developed expertise in Alaska fisheries over 10 years as a journalist in Alaska and a year as a retail fishmonger. Sam holds a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies from Carleton College and is a geography graduate student at Penn State.
