Fisherman of the Year Contest

Do you have what it takes to be the next Fisherman of the Year?

Step on up to compete in this annual fun and competitive event where your fishing skills are put to the test! Winners of each skill test will receive a cash prize, a National Fisherman t-shirt, and will advance on to the final round – the survival suit test! The winner of the final round will take home the title of 2015 Fisherman of the Year, and a personalized National Fisherman jacket! (There is no fee to enter, and no registration required. Just show up to the event and step on up!)

Not competing? Take a seat and cheer on these brave skilled fisherman as they show off their skills and compete for the 2015 Fisherman of the Year title!

 


The Fisher Poets

Listen in as the renowned Fisher Poets entertain you with colorful music and stories.
The Fisher Poets are a loose group of commercial fishermen/writers who perform regularly at the Fisher Poets Gathering in Astoria, Oregon each February. Many of them perform at other venues, and share their poems, stories and songs over the radio during slow fishing days. Learn more.
