Martin Teachout is the Vice President of Vessel Safety and Compliance for Trident Seafoods head quartered in Seattle Washington, where he is responsible for the safety of 42 vessels and 1000+ personnel, with operations in Washington, Oregon and Alaska.
Martin began his Coast Guard Career in 1983 and has 33 years of both Active Duty and Civilian service with the U.S. Coast Guard, 25 years of Active Duty Service and 8 years as a Civilian.
During his active Duty career in the Coast Guard, Martin serviced on the Coast Guard Cutters BEAR, SWEETGUM, IRIS, LIBERTY, GALVESTON ISLAND and KUKUI. He did joint tour with the NAVY at Afloat Training Center Middle Pacific where he taught Navigation and Combat systems. He also serviced in the Joint Rescue Coordination Center in Honolulu, Hi. Martin moved onto the Marine Safety Field of the Coast Guard and completed tours at Sector Puget Sound and as the Supervisor of Marine Safety Detachment Unalaska, AK. He completed his Coast Guard Career in 2007 at District Thirteen in Seattle, WA. and transitioned immediately to his civilian career as the Chief of Uninspected Vessels and Sector Puget Sound Fishing Vessel Coordinator, where he ensured that fishing vessels that operated in Washington, Oregon and Alaska complied with all Federal and State regulations. He also manager and oversaw the Alternative Compliance and Safety Program. In 2015 Martin moved onto Trident Seafoods to become their VP of Vessel Safety and Compliance.
