John practices general business and commercial law, primarily working with maritime and marine-related businesses. A focus of John’s practice is supporting the operational contracting needs of clients, including development of standardized documentation for various commercial sale and rental transactions and preparation of work, service and consulting agreements. This work includes review and negotiation of master service, vendor and related agreements on behalf of clients providing diving, heavy lift and other marine services to customers in the energy, civil construction and public infrastructure sectors.
John also assists clients with government procurement matters, including review and negotiation of prime contracts and subcontracts, establishing joint venture and teaming arrangements, bid preparation, and, as necessary, prosecution and defense of bid protests and associated disputes. A substantial portion of John’s work also includes advising clients with respect to commercial leasing and real property purchase and sale transactions, primarily with respect to marine terminal and other industrial waterfront properties. John also regularly assists clients with vessel and marine-related financing and associated vessel documentation issues.
