Maritime Safety Compliance Supervisor - Washington Dept of Labor and Industries

Biography

In charge of all maritime safety compliance activities in Washington State. My staff perform detailed audits of marine industry job sites including shipyards, seafood processors, commercial diving operations, marine freight handling facilities and during the construction of piers and docks as well as other marine infrastructure to help ensure employee safety. In addition I am the Maritime Technical Specialist, providing technical assistance to all DOSH compliance and consultation activities in Washington State as well as to the maritime industry. I also administer the charter boat safety program ensuring that all charter boats operating on internal state waters meet the minimum requirements of 46 CFR Subchapters T and K as well as the Charter Boat Safety Act, RCW 88.04. I have been a long time member of the Maritime Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (MACOSH) and currently chair the Longshore working group.
