Jill Mackie serves as Senior Vice President of Public Affairs for Vigor where she has oversight of local, state and federal government relations on behalf of the company’s operations in Oregon, Washington and Alaska. She is also responsible for internal and external communications, including press relations, and community relations for Vigor. Prior to coming to Vigor, Mackie was with The Seattle Times for 16 years as Vice President, Public Affairs, where she engaged on many issues critical for the company’s success including land use and zoning, state and federal tax policy, media consolidation, pension reform and open records. She also had oversight of internal and external strategic communications. She led the company’s launch of LiveWire, an event series aimed at sparking conversations on important regional topics. Mackie initially began her government relations work for Pacific Lumber & Shipping Co., at one time among the top 10 privately held companies in Washington state, where she focused on environmental and trade-related matters at the state and federal levels. Mackie currently serves on the boards of the Washington Maritime Federation, the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and the Portland Business Alliance.
