Sustainable Seafood via Technology

Sustainable fishing is achieved by empowering and supporting fishermen by implementing tools to make businesses more efficient and reducing negative ecological footprint. In the current day, technology is the key factor for the entire supply chain especially with the capability to have “eyes in the net”. Live camera systems benefit fishermen, processors, buyers, and researchers to all have valuable details about the fisheries and its harvest. This session will provide how traceability through the supply chain is essential for an economically and ecologically sustainable seafood industry, and data at the point of capture, made possible by technology, is the critical first building block.
